Use CT Cues

Use CT Cues

Front: Nonverbal gestures for CT vocabulary help give access to and reinforce new concepts, especially for younger learners.

Back: Make CT visible in your classroom. Strategies include hanging computational thinking posters, designing a word wall for CT, and creating and modeling physical gestures that students can connect to computational thinking concepts. For example, use the ASL sign language for "break apart" (decompose) by pulling two hands apart; or using thumbs up, down or sideways to represent evaluating a solution to a problem.
