Capturing Students' Thoughts

Front: Time constraints, pacing, or class momentum can unintentionally silence students' contributions. Creating alternative ways to contribute helps validate their ideas.

Back: Seek opportunities to explore a student's thinking through journaling, prompts, and in large or small groups to accomplish two goals: 1) acknowledge that the student's idea is valued and 2) allow students to contribute to the refining of each other's ideas and reason collaboratively.
