Agreed-upon signal: Raise hand to give teacher choice to call on you

Language to use:

• "Ms. [Teacher], I've seen that done another way..."
• "Could I add something to that?"
• "Do you mean...?" (to gently correct)

Bug-In-The-Ear: Quietly whisper to teacher during student work time:

• "Try asking [student] to explain their thinking"
• "You might want to check on the back table"

Remember: You are not here to save the lesson.

Even if the lesson is going poorly:

• Resist the urge to take over
• An unsuccessful lesson is a learning opportunity
• Teacher growth comes from struggle + reflection
• You'll debrief together afterward

Reflection and feedback is where the real learning happens. This is a collaborative conversation about the lesson to design next steps.
